Yasukuni shrine

Yasukuni shrine is the controversial Shinto shrine that houses remains of all Japanese who died for the motherland in various wars.


As such, it also includes figures from Second World War, some of which are convicted war criminals.

So whenever a Japanese prime minister (or any other important dignitary) goes to pay respect to the buried there, an outrage (usually in Korea and China) ensues.

Yasukuni shrine is located fairly central, the closest subway station being Kudanshita.
